Lipids handled much differently than carbs (in the way they travel and act in circulation) Lipids cannot just dissolve in blood plasma and be transported directly. Mostly tg taken in from diet, need to be broken down and transported via transporters. Mouth lingual lipase, continuously secreted (as long as you are consuming and chewing lipase will be there) Gallbladder source of bile (bile acids act as detergent, break up lipid molecules and ^ sa and water association) Small intestine main products are monoglycerides and some free fas. Pancreatic lipase (sn-1 first, then sn-3 position) Not breaking down cholesterol per say but making it available for uptake. Digested lipids are stabilized by bile salts (bile salts = bile acids that are conjugated) Small, spherical complexes containing lipid digestion products plus bile salts. *small enough droplets that they interact w. membrane, before they were too big (soluble fiber can interfere w. this)
