Need to control the music by the industry: creaion of naional youth dance culture is directly atributable to american bandstand, the twist was promoted by the show, song covered by chubby checker (originally by hank. Caused more songs to come out with named dances (i. e. the fly , the mashed. Potato , the peppermint twist : had black & white arists, force of racial integraion. Number of night clubs increased ater the twist, called discot ques (music provided by a dj) Links to country or hillbilly music through the irst folk revival of the 30s & 40s.
