Two stages: conversion to transmutation (far after voyage spring 1837) Darwin wasn"t the only one, but his mechanism was unique. Darwin argued about population growth, limited resources, pressure on population and struggle for survival: on the origin of species (1859) 1858 forced to put it together because someone else almost stole his theory.
