Unconditioned reinforcers: (cid:498)unlearned reinforcers(cid:499), reinforcer of behaviour that didn"t need to be learned. Conditioned reinforcers: (cid:498)learned reinforcers(cid:499), learned through being (cid:498)when a stimulus becomes a conditioned reinforcer through deliberate reinforcers(cid:499) paired with other reinforcers. Not originally a reinforcer, but becomes one as a result of being paired with association with other reinforcers, the other reinforcers are called backup other reinforcers. Main advantages: can often be delivered more immediately than the backup reinforcer, help bridge delays between behaviour and more powerful reinforcers importance of reinforcer immediacy with only a single backup reinforcer. We talked about bridging delays when we discussed the: i. e. clicker is backed up with treat. Money is the perfect generalized conditioned reinforcer. It is: paired with manifold backup reinforcers, found everywhere in society, reinforced with backups frequently i. e. by using it to purchase things. Tokens: conditioned reinforcers that can be collected and exchanged for backup reinforcers.
