FRHD 2100 Lecture 8: Chapter-8-sexual-fantasies
Document Summary
Chapter 8: sexual behaviours and fantasies: a sexual fantasy can be defined as almost any mental imagery that is sexually arousing or erotic to the individual . Can occur because an individual wants them to (i. e. masturbation), or spontaneously without conscious effort. Men with frequent deviant fantasies more likely to be socially isolated and emotionally unstable such fantasizing doesn"t mean the fantasizer want these events to occur. Women have relatively greater genetic investments than men in each reproductive opportunity. According to this perspective, the content of our sexual fantasies is influenced primarily by the gender roles we learn as we grow up. Sexual dreams: common among university students, most have sexual dreams at least once a week almost all pleasurable. Most common activities in dreams were kissing and sexual intercourse rarely masturbation. Generally, about behaviours they"d engaged in with partners previously. Females more likely to dream about current partners, men more likely to dream about other people.
