Conception: timing is everything, egg begins to deteriorate after release so ideal time is 4-20 hours after ovulation. Sperm most active within 48 hours of ejaculation, however, in ideal conditions some can survive up to 5 days. Infertility: childless vs. child-free, child-free: choosing to have no children. Infertility diagnosed after failing to conceive for 1 year. Male: 30% of cases male related, disease. Female: ovulation issues, reproductive tract issues, endometriosis. In vitro fertilization: extract ova, collect sperm, ovum and sperm together in laboratory dish, transferred back to uterus. Induce "super ovulation: hormones after transfer to maximize chances of implantation. As of april 2014: promise to fund one cycle of ivf, all forms of infertility, women age 42 or younger, program to start december 2015. Context: acceptance of sexual behaviour largely influenced by culture.
