Depends on who you are expressing that love to different types of love )family, friends, boyfriend etc. ) Would you marry someone who had all the qualities you were looking for in a partner, but whom you were not in love with: most people would say no. In past, people married for political, economic, practical and family reasons. Transition of love has shifted over the years, have become very different than they were in the past. Europe in the middle ages and renaissance: land and wealth were controlled by kings, so care was taken to make sure marriages would produce strong alliances, expand their wealth and land that they had. Between 7th and 12th centuries: roman catholic church promoted marriage as sacrament, through individual consent. This produced a shift from economic to consent.
