All people are motivated: need to know what motivated for or about, different levels of motivation. As employee: manipulate motivation so that they are motivated to get what you want do. Create env: lots of ways to do it but cannot physically motivate someone. Ex quit smoking: can help and support but cant motivate them. Low level satisfied before people will be motivated to fulfill higher need. Self actualization is never accomplished: always want to go higher, faster, farther etc. Belonging: being part of the team all ppl motivated to reach higher level skinner: learning is change of behaviour which is result of events in env. +/- reinforcement and punishment reinforcement is better (either + or -) than punishment (either + or -) all ppl motivated by experience in env they are in, whether + or . Adams depending on amount of effort, expect certain reward (ex level of pay) Motivated if feel there is a fair compensation.
