Natural ventilation doesnt cost much easy to operate: open windows and doors but must know where and when relies on wind, temperature of air depending on temperature of air, will dictate how much new air mixes with old air. Diff ventilation in summer and winter know where wind comes from to know how to orientate barn. Oriente barn perpendicular (length wise) to main wind direction. Air in soffit size depends on size of air, air temp some banrs can adjust size of soffit . if opening is too large cold air will plummet down and wont mix with warm air. Want fresh air mixing but don"t want to create drafts can run entire length of the barn or just at certain intervals. 1 inch opening for every 10" width of building (36" wide barn would want. 4 inches of opening for the air to enter). Cant just have windows and doors bc in winter don"t use them.
