Factors of design: new vs renovation. 9x out of ten cheaper to just renovate as long as sound. Blank piece of land needs lots of permitting (and conservation authorities permits), renovating is much easier: budget. 30-80$ per square feet: breed or discipline, purpose of facility, type of construction. Getting harder and harder, no one wants to get caught. Services: water (ex well), utilities (hydro), access. Amenities: paddocks, wateres, shelter, round pen, exerciser, outdoor riding ring, signage, entrance, gating. Well and septics can dictate your site plan design. Scissor trus: adds light, airy, not to expensive to add: v ceiling. Trusses are easy to build with but catches fire and spreads very fast. If build with big logs, fire doesn"t spread as quick: increase construction costs (10-20%) but much more fire safe.
