Ecology and lanscape related to horses: horses have evolved from tree lands to grasslands. Aesthetics: ppl want to see the landscape wiouth being seen, want everything to fit and belong together, coherent, want complexity so that makes us look at it and engage us, curvy fences, trees, light dark, hills. Farm aesthetics: attractiveness is culturally-dependant: what you think is attractive depends on your culture (farmers (they like productivity) vs horses vs lawyers, canada vs states etc, look for it when things come together, edges. Identifies that someone is taking care of it, belongs to someone. Hard to deal with in high traffic area: can make an edge to it or smt so looks like you are caring for it even though it"s a trampled area. Could be small like a mud puddle or bigger like whole farm. Ecosystems do not have to natural, parking lot is an ecosystem.
