Stippling on maps where at least 90% of models agree on the sign of change and the change is large compared to internal variability. Hatching is areas where the projected change is less than one standard deviation of the natural internal variability: meaning the precipitation anomalies are within one standard deviation (thus there is a lot of error involved) There are lots of things that contribute to it and a lot of regional differences: very little hatching in the temperature projections though, so we"re pretty confident about that. Largest temperature changes will happen in the north. A measure of how spread out the numbers are. Wetter areas will get wetter and dry areas will get dryer. Areas around the equator may see significant rainfall which will lead to flooding and landslides: areas around 30 degrees will see extreme water deficits. Parts of africa, australia and southern united states are looking at 20+ drought days.
