Motive behind sparta military was to create internal stability, do away with things that cause divisions and ght in harmony. Spartiates were striving to becoming towards homioi (equals)": got this idea from priestess of delphi, she dictated the spartan constitution. Di erent from the athenians who wrote down all their laws, spartans just lived their laws. They saw their constitution as unchangeable, so that gave them great stability: they were slow to react to changes in the world around them. Sparta would have 2 kings (agiad and eurypontid), coming from synoyism. Kings were the things of the past since those kings had power, and these kinds did not. Geroisia and gerontes (elders), formed an advisory senate, 60 year old spartans of. 28 men: old men wouldn"t be driven by personal interest, these men were appointed. Ephors were annually elected (5 of them) would enforce the laws and rules of sparta.
