A lot of this sounds obvious, but it is easy to forget in a heated discussion. You will be required to deal with people who have very different experiences than your own. They will have different expertise and experience than your own. You will need a range of presentation and listening strategies. Identify the role of participants, the desired outcomes, and the options for communications available to you. Determine the best method of communications to achieve the desired results, not the method which is easiest for you. Be aware that some people may be hesitant to provide information if they believe their supervisor will learn about it, if it"s reported or recorded. *know what information you need before you start working with others. The development team can change which can prevent communications from being consistent. E. g. people can leave (vacation, new job, etc )
