Motivation: the extent to which persistent e ort is directed toward a goal. E ort: strength of the persons work related behaviour, or the amount of e ort the person exhibits on the job, can vary depending on the job. Persistence: individuals exhibit in applying e ort to their work. Direction: do workers channel persistent e ort in a direction that bene ts the organization, quality of the work. Goals: all motivated behaviour has some goal or objective toward which it is directed - may include high productivity, good attendance, or creative decision. Intrinsic motivation: stems from the direct relationship between the worker and the task, see applied, feelings of achievement, accomplishment, challenge, and competence are derived from performing ones jobs.
