One of these peppers is not like the other. Cinnamon may be obtained from these two plants: cinnamonum verum and cassia (cinamomum aromaticum) True cinnamon is native to india and sri. Cinnamon means a fragrant plant from the greek and latin for true . Cinnamomum verum is an evergreen tree but it does not have cones. They only let it grow to 2-3 meters in height. True cinnamon is lighter in colour and the flower structures are different. Bark is stripped by hand, rolled and allowed to dry for a day. Step 2: a lengthwise incision is made in order to release the inner bark as a roll. Cassia is made out of outer bark and inner bark and true cinnamon is inner bark. Spice is obtained from the inner bark (quills or cinnamon sticks) Cassia is made out of outer bark and inner bark. The true cinnamon is sweet in aroma but the cassia is more strong and bitter.
