Pharmacology: the study of drugs, the use of plants for remedies, came from egypt. Almost all medicines are plants based, they extract the chemical compound then they synthesize the compound. The secondary metabolites: are the medicine and they have complex structures with different functions and they have to treat diseases. Primary compounds (metabolites): simple structures and photosynthesis, basic molecules. Anthocyanin: in onions (allium is botanical name for onion) a cepa onion, a sativum is garlic and it gives strong taste in onions. Red, purple, blue is anthocyanin (pigment of given colors) they are antioxidants. O1 is bad and it is highly reactive, they make you old and cause cancer. Antioxidants take the o1 away so antioxidants are good.
