Document Summary

Plants are cells with a nucleus from tissue (a collection of cells, organ systems (leaf, flower stem (basically what you see)) They have different kinds of cells (xylem (wood) (conducts water and food) and phloem (outside) (make the sugar)) Evolution started as algae, very primitive, live near water bodies, then moved to land. Algae cannot transport h2o, so they live near water because they have no conducing tissue. Photosynthesis: plant can make food from the sun. They have a shiny layer to keep the water in the plant. Plants turn solar energy into chemical energy. (sun to sugar to storage, to transported around the plant) if they are green they make food. In plants everything is together they take the lights energy. Root system: keep the plants upright, absorbs h2o, nutrients and minerals. Flower system: reproductive organs, yielding fruit, conducting seeds. Once the flower is fertilised it makes the fruit.
