Genetic diversity exists within single trees; genetic diversity among the branches; increasing difference as you moved up the tree. Totipotency: theoretically all plant cells are able to give rise to a complete plant. Exploiting a stable environment rapid reproduction of a highly adapted type; like selfing plants, but no relationship to homozygosity. Vulnerable to local extinction if the environment conditions change it may no longer be highly adaptable. Most species retain some degree of sexual reproduction.
