Compares the object with known productions of the same maker or in the same cultural era; a knowing connoisseur or art historian may be able to see differences in style that reveal an object"s fraudulent nature. Whenever any work of art, or scientific specimen, or historical object enters a msm, it must be identified immediately by some clear and ready means and its entry and subsequent disposition must be accurately and permanently recorded. Msms should keep three types of information: Collections management information, beginning with acquisition information; physical descriptive information; and artistic, historical, and/or scientific contextual information, including significant to the msm"s collections: markings r v important. The museum system is a collection management software. Tms is open architecture, so collections data can be integrated with other management systems. Job than a restorer: not to be confused, slightly different, conservators are material experts there to prevent, stop or slow down problems.
