It is important to bear in mind that each individual sound is unique. explain the combinations of sounds that are or are not permissible in the language. Sounds : capability make the sounds in any language , each individual is unique. Phonemes ; smallest classes of sound that change meaning. They use the minimal-pair test to compare and accurately distinguish between phonemes. For example, the english words bit and pit are almost identical, differing only in the first letter. The substitution of the-b and the-p changes the meaning.
