Assume they want help: did they alter between when you read about the troubles in the community of. Video showed people were trying to make positive change: describe how values, beliefs and assumptions can influence your and/or society"s view and understanding of the community and working with the community of. Assumptions can affect what we see in the community, prevents us from seeing good potentially. Prevents you from doing what is best in the community because you think it may not work. Lots of layers, have to identify the complexity of situations and the community in general (politics, individuals, key informants, resources) Need to leave assumptions at the door so no bias is included. Need to be open to what you hear, see, experience.
