The act, the process, and practice of naming and defining. What we name and define can be a multiplicity of things. Primarily it is the practice, assigning and naming of things and material things. We do that deliberately and systematically and is driven by our own theoretical ideas and interest; they communicate to others what our priorities as scholars and questions/interests are as scholars/students of ir. A concept for which there is no common definition or no consensus on a definition. Not only is the definition contested, but also how the term is applied in the world. Actually applying that particular concept on a thing to explain the world as we see it. Argued to have come up with this term to capture what was happening at the time he was living.
