This covers the period in ancient greece before socrates and schools contributing to socrates but not influenced by him: class of ancient pre-socratic philosophers called physiologoi. Means physical or natural philosophers: aristotle called these philosophers physicoi. These philosophers sought natural explanations of phenomenon, not utilizing previous supernatural explanations. Diogenes: in the 3rd century ce divided the physiologoi into two groups. In their works it can be difficult to determine and follow their line of arguments used in support of their particular views: no texts survived in full forms.
