Published Job Market and the Hidden Job Market
It is evident that few people will open the classified part of a newspaper where the jobs
are advertised. On the classified, there are jobs that are listed. Vacancies and posted for the
willing people to apply. With the increased technology and use of media, such jobs are also
found on the internet where advertisements are open. In other cases, the application will be done
online to help the users have a simple application method (Adler, 2013). These jobs are said to
be published, leading to the published job market. On the other hand, the hidden job markets are
the jobs that are never advertised. Such jobs are difficult to get to the public as one will get them
through direct contact with the employer. Such job is not advised as most of the times; the
employer will look for the person with the qualifications needed for the position.
Accessing the published job markets will be easy as the job are advertised online, in
newspapers and the media. Users should keep themselves up to date with the sources of news as
these are the areas where the jobs are advertised. The increased technology also helps the users
to get alerts through the email address in the areas where the employees are required. Such
subscriptions can be used by the people to access the published jobs. Jobs are also advertised in
the company websites (Sydney.edu.au, 2016). Employees and other looking for the jobs should
visit the company websites to find out the vacancies in the websites.
