• Assignment, comments, grading rubric, class sources, external sources..
• Answer the question, focal areas, brainstorm (connect focal areas to current knowledge)
• Make a reverse outline
o Identify the general structure of your work
▪ Intro/thesis, main idea/healine, conclusion.
o Write down argument and main ideas.
▪ Topic sentence, concluding.
▪ Is the main idea based around a key piece of evidence?
o Connect main ideas.
▪ Which paragraphs develop a single idea?
▪ Does a single paragraph develop multiple ideas?
o How do the main ideas connect to the argument?
▪ If the do’t, the that’s the ost iportat aspet to fi.
o Tension/engagement
▪ How do the main ideas substantiate themselves, but also how do those ideas
relate to each other.
▪ Find what your paragraph is trying to say, and figure out if hat ou’re ritig is
true to that paragraph.
• Make sure you are confident in the understanding of the philosophy.
Drafting and re-drafting
• New sources, how do I create a logical dynamic?, how do I ensure concision?
• Make an outline.
• Before:
o Identify main arguments from new sources.
o Brainstorming: quality > quantity.
• Creating:
o Main argument
o What methods will be used to develop argument?
