Bury: illness as biological disruption: disruption of taken-for-granted assumptions and behaviours. We construct our own biographies (have plans for life); finding meaning in life. When illness comes, it removes us from our own biographies. Attention drawn to body: increasingly have to pay attention to own body states (not done when we are healthy) esp for basic actions = impossible.
