Grazing & wanting the right answer right now: the style of learning has turned from deep attention, to grazing, the internet means thinking is sometimes optional. Always possible to google and getting a list of possible answers. Berlin in the 19th century: but increasingly seems to make students passive. Turns them into stenographers: turkle and others argue that we need to recapture a more dialogical style of education. Makes students more passive and accept the info that is presented to them. Often have to drag the younger workers: less interaction between clients and service providers. Meetings that aren"t meetings: increasingly there is a sense that meetings are a bit pointless, people are multitasking in meetings, email in particular, changes the style of meetings to maximize information in less time. Present info quickly and simply while people are still paying attention: multitasking puts us in a condition where we can only follow the most rudimentary arguments, encourages brevity and simplicity.
