● Forced or unwanted kissing, fondling, vaginal or anal penetration, and/or oral sexual
contact
Pyramid of Sexual Violence
People commit sexual assault to gain a sense of power and control
People commit sexual assault because of a sense of entitlement
There is no consent if
● It is obtained through the abuse of a position of power, trust, or authority
● A yes is obtained through coercion (not voluntary)
○ Uses pressure, threats, or intimidation to make someone “give in”
● Does not say “yes”
● Says or implies “no” through their words
● Says or implies “no” through their behaviours
