Cats can be very vocal: excessive vocalization can be due to. Bringing a cat in from outside that is used to having lots of area to roam freely, losing environmental enrichment. Will subside as cats acclimatize to their environment. Remove environmental objects that could be destroyed (blinds on windows) Can treat similar to attention seeking behaviour. Does not seem to have any lead in factors. Same type of vocalizations that happen over and over. Some stimulus in the environment causes fear/anxiety response (cat sees another cat outside the window) Feline hyperesthesia: enlarged pupils, rippling skin, frantic self-grooming, aggression, hypervocalizations, usually a sign of underlying medical condition, this is a syndrome that presents from an underlying medical condition, cat is highly aroused, tail switches back and forth quickly. Cognitive dysfunction syndrome (cds: deficits in memory, learning, perception, awareness, house soiling. Occurs when birds or squirrels are present.
