Document Summary
Psyco282, lecture 21, oct. 28 (antecedent control procedures) Antecedent control procedure: antecedent stimuli are manipulated to evoke desirable behaviour than cab be di erential reinforced. Also called antecedent manipulation: presenting, modifying, or developing new sd for desirable behaviour. Nudge theory: manipulates behaviour by changing the ease or di culty of performing it. Sds versus mos: a discriminative stimulus (sd) indicated that reinforcement is available following a particular behaviour. A motivating operation (mo) alters the value of a reinforcer and therefore a ects the likelihood of the behaviour that results in the reinforcer. Non-contingent reinforcement (ncr): a form of antecedent intervention in which stimuli that are known reinforcers are delivered on a schedule independent of behaviour- not dependent on responses. Diminishes undesirable behaviour, because reinforcers that maintain it are frequently available. May function as an abolishing predation, reducing the motivation to reason the undesirable behaviour. Reinforcers can be delivered on a xed time schedule or a variable time schedule.
