Studies of the physical location of the engram (in cortex) Mass action memories stored diffusely in brain. You only use 10% of the brain - lol. You do use all of your brain however. Pigeons had to run from one side to the other very quickly and pick up food from the tray. Sometimes an pigeon would not do its task for long stretches (run at very fast) Did not slow down in time and would crash into the lever. Basically, lashley decided that describing a behaviour was more beneficial. Concluded that animals have a lot of variation in how they respond. 3 turns before rats finished the course. Interested in where the locus of where memory takes place in the nervous system of the rat.
