Some social withdrawal might be related to other symptoms like fear of having a ashback spontaneously or that friends aren"t connecting like before due to the event . Prevalence: depends on the population that is studied. Usa: 60% men and 50% women - report at least 1 highly traumatic event. Of those, about 5% men and 20% women develop ptsd. Not necarrilyn that experiencing a traumatic event will lead to ptsd. Between 10-20% veterans in gulf wars etc. Soldiers with ptsd have other conditions - tend to consume more alcohol, alcoholism, more likely to abuse drugs, more likely to be involved in domestic violence and other violent acts. Memory related task, bad at inhibiting, visual stimuli , etc.
