Document Summary

The study of the influence of genetic factors on behavioural traits. How stuff is passed on from parent to offspring. If you inherit something, you usually receive it from an ancestor. Complex functional molecules made up of amino acids. Activation or deactivation of a gene can increase or decrease protein production. Change in protein levels can change functioning in and around cells. If a gene in a pair is dominant, the characteristic it controls will be displayed. If a gene in a pair is recessive, the characteristic will not show up unless the partner gene is also recessive. When a number of gene pairs combine to increase a single phenotypic trait, known as polygenic transmission. Special chemicals can become attached to the nucleotides and be silenced or pushed to become more active. Once a signal reaches a cell, proteins carry info inside.
