Liver: makes bile, which aids in digesion and absorpion of fat. Pancreas: releases bicarbonate to neutralize intesinal contents; produces enzymes that digest carbohydrate, protein and fat. Gallbladder: stores bile and releases it into the small intesine when needed. Small intesine: completes digesion; absorbs nutrients into blood or lymph.
