Patient"s perceptual or coordination problems: assess patient"s ability to administer insulin syringe, assess patient"s abilities. Patient"s current condition: physical and mental status assess. Patient"s knowledge and understanding of medication therapy: assess knowledge, by asking things like do you know what it is for? . Patient"s learning needs: may need to explain the action and purpose of the medication, the expected side effects, correct administration techniques, and steps the patient can take to remember the medication regimen.
