Scatter plot shows us relationship between two variables. Positive relationship: when both are going up or both are going down. Negative relationship: when one goes up, the other goes down. Measurement tools are instruments used to collect data. Feasibility refers to how easy the tool is to use. Tools that take a long time to complete are not feasible in busy clinical settings. Content: reviewed by experts in the field. Convergent: scores positively correlated (r=0. 4 or higher) with a previously validated tool on the same topic. Ex: patient rates same on numeric pain scale and faces chart of pain scale. Divergent: scores negatively correlated (r=-0. 4 or higher) with a previously validated tool on the opposite concept. Ex: if a person scores high on the pain scale, they may score low on the qofl scale. If a person scores good on a ncat, does it predict the positive outcomes for the child.
