Colonial logic and is doing people a favour by intervention in their daily life. There"s a good way to live and everyone should life that way. Indigenous people are assumed to not know these things. Different views from white high class european is seen as inferior. Respect that young people could figure things out themselves. No body could intervene unless it affected people around you. When intervention happened it did it as a whole and in a way to restore issues. Intervention is the 1st step and has been normalized. 1885 with nwmp enforcing canadian governance on indigenous peoples. Shots were exchanged and metis police shot a cree fighter. Take on a social regulating role in indigenous lives. 1920s they disbanded the 6 nations and implemented the council. Rcmp and indigenous communities have a long hard history. Indigenous people are more likely to not be allowed bailed.
