** csl forms & reflections due no later than april 11th (15% of your grade) Teachers/admin viewed as authoritarian, viewed it as a job and not a lifestyle. Students allowed to speak & have input in decisions. Admin/staff knew kids names and interacted them. Staff didn"t see it as a dreary job counting hours left in the day. Teacher moves from front of the room & circulates gets down their level. Students going to build positive connections with other students. Getting to know your students (interests, activities watching a couple sports games) Don"t see relevance or importance of school. Bleeds into the classroom don"t trust the adults in their life. Can"t do homework, not sleeping or eating right. Anxiety more and more common and starting at a younger age. Make school a welcoming and connected place. Involve parents by developing partnerships with school towards common goals. How they can be involved in a meaningful way.
