EDPY301 Lecture : CLI 2.1
Document Summary
The learning outcome for contextualized learning and instruction part 2. 1 is to: discuss the types of scaffolds. A scaffold is a temporary learning aid designed to help the student grow in independence as a learner. The types of scaffolds that can be used to assist learning are described in different ways. We will discuss types of scaffolds using the terms. We will discuss these scaffolds separately, however in reality a scaffold can often function as both a structural and interactive support depending on how a teacher uses it. These are the somewhat static features of the context that can be preplanned or manipulated by the teacher. They are ways that the teacher can provide facilitating conditions to aid learning, which include engineering a learning context or using a skill routine. Engineering a learning context involves: manipulating an activity to maximize the use of the target skill or strategy.
