Sharing reading: the teacher and students read together or parts of a book together. Strategies: do picture/book walk, read book, reread to familiarize students with book, steps include, discovery, exploration, independent experience. Strategies: introduce the text to the students, read the book, discuss and revisit the text, teach for processing strategies, extend understanding. Interactive/guided reading: with older students; working on reading strategies to make meaning. Intensive work with small groups of students using a book with a moderate degree of difficulty. 210-214: introduce book: create interest, raise questions, read book: quietly or silently, while inviting, discuss and revisit book: learners discuss what they read/problem- solving strategies. Paired reading: where reading is done together as a pair: with on having a higher level of reading skill: student and teacher, volunteer and student, or older and younger student. Independent reading: students select own text and read it on their own at their own pace.
