On the map of the earth at night: captures the essence of globalization = doing deals between each point of light. Positive: each point of light = potential customers. Negative: each point of light = potential competitors. Globalization results in competition = businesses going out of business. Rules: there are winners and losers in globalization; the losers are people who are not global competitors (i. e. not entrepreneurial or innovative) Ex bangladesh had better and cheaper labour, which is why textile factories in. But this resulted in horrible work conditions. Opposed against globalization because it results in immigration and loss of jobs for people who originally lived there. People who voted for trump are the losers of globalization (generally less than high school education, rural areas, white, male) Trump is pushing for protectionist policies to stop others who are more competitive away - to stop the forces of globalization.
