Why don"t plants have warning colouration: green because of their chlorophyll, won"t absorb as much light if they"re any colour other than green, then less photosynthesis, when green, absorbs every colour of light except for green. Information due to excellent trapping records from the hudson bay company (1850: snowshoe hare and canada lynx, lepus americanus and lynx canadensis, more prey on a landscape than predators, both populations cycle regularly, due to one another. The complementary hypothesis: it"s both food availability and predation. Conversion factor: how many prey are needed to produce one predator, how many prey individuals a female needs to consume to make one offspring, not perfectly accurate, this is merely a model.
