Poisonous saliva: siphon: fused tube of mantle. Used for jet-propulsion, particularly by squids: only molluscs w/ _______ circulatory systems. Muscle contractions used for jet-propulsion might otherwise squeeze blood out of areas where it is needed. Class cephalopoda: cephalopods include squids, cuttlefish, octopuses (~650 spp. ) Cephalo = head, pod = foot: no external shell.
