Document Summary
Tapeworms in humans are from eating undercooked pork and beef. Trematoda are parasites that have 2 large suckers. Adults are parasites of vertebrate, and invertebrates serve as intermediate hosts. They have many repeated units with similar internal and external anatomy. These are eucoelomate, the body cavity completely lined with mesodermally derived tissues. They have closed circulatory systems, their blood is contained in vessels. They have a complete digestive system with an anus. Most body segments have oppy lobes called parapodia. They have a clearly di erentiated head with sensory antennae and often with eyes. Sedentary polychaetes either ingest substrate and digest the organic matter or suspension feed by ltering food particles out of the water column. Deposit feeding is done by trailing sticky tentacles over substrate and licking o adherent matter. Sedentary polychaetes usually dig burrows and construct tubes. Eggs and sperm are released into the water. Fertilization occurs outside of the body of the female parent.
