Document Summary

There are two main types of variation; phenotypic and genotypic. Phenotypic is one that appears such as skin color, while genotypic can be part of your genetic makeup. It is not always necessary for genotypic traits to appear. If you have the allele for blue eye color and also brown eye color, only the brown color will be presented to the world. However, that does not mean that you don"t have an allele for blue eyes. You can still pass that off to your children. For natural selection to act on variation, it must be seen by the environment (expressed) and be heritable. You cannot change yourself to resist natural selection natural selection selects individuals that fail to survive and reproduce and removes them from the population. Selective agents are components of natural environment that consistently cause differential survival and or reproduction. It can be anything that is always acting upon individuals.
