Make treaties - legally binding international agreements with other countries, requires senate rati cation. Veto - can take the legislative and refuse to sign it, congress can override presidential veto with 2/3 majority. Primaries: each party (democrat and republican) select candidates for president, each state votes for a candidate, each state will send delegates to a convention, candidate with majority of delegate support, wins the nomination. Two houses: the senate, house of representatives. Midterm election - non presidential election (senate and house of representatives)
