Longhorn cattle being driven hundreds of miles being delivered to railheads. Sometimes native american groups were intervened and fights would break out. Dodge city was kind of like vegas glamorized; cowboys would blow their pay in two weeks here. Ripping everyone off while they become wealthy. Others claimed they were captains of industry because they were providing jobs and supporting the economy. 1880-1910 could be argued that this is the time that really makes america . They are becoming #1, even though they don"t necessarily realize it. Growing sense that they"re onto something even european countries are beginning to see how strong america is. The geysers in the area make it unique. Teddy roosevelt wanted to preserve it for the future generations. By the time national parks came around, there wasn"t a lot of space in the east to claim and preserve as national park.
