Women"s movement: switching women into the public sphere and men in the private sphere, gender expectations are reversed, vs caricature from ca. It seemed like she had just taken a snap shot: man does and woman sits and takes care of child, high foreground. 1: models in clay and cast in bronze. Revived in later 19th c sculptures preferred bronze. As you move around it the light shifts and flickers spontaneous and more true to life. Has a compositional profile triangular shape- base- base of her dress- as you move up it become pyramid like.
