1 in 500 people have a non-traditional chromosome pattern (not xx or xy) There are 3 levels sex chromosome, gonad, eternal genitalia (eg. an xy chromosome with teste gonads but external genitalia of a vagina) Gender is influenced by culture, religion and even politics. Scenario a : sex chromosomes = xy, leading to, gonads = testes, leading to, external genitalia = male. Scenario b : sex chromosomes = xx, leading to, gonads = ovaries, leading to, external genitalia = female. Transvestites do not undergo physical changes but does enjoy dressing up/acting as another gender. Transgender are people who do undergo physical altercations to better reflect their true gender. Turners syndrome (xo): females only, may have a second x chromosome but its underdeveloped, possible infertility/lack of period, is curable via estrogen replace therapy. Metafemale (xxx to xxxxx): tend to be taller women, possible learning disabilities, happens during cell division in parent"s reproduction.
